Stardust Dragon may have been Yusei Fudo’s ace monster, but it was far from his only Synchro Monster in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s. Yusei’s “Synchron” powered series of “Junk” and “Warrior” Synchro Monsters carried him through so many Duels, it’s hard to keep count!
Junk Fudo!
The original Tuner and Synchro pair is Junk Synchron and Junk Warrior. Junk Synchron Special Summons a Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard when it’s Normal Summoned, which can give you all the Synchro Material you need to Summon Junk Warrior! Junk Warrior powers up based on the ATK of your other Level 2 monsters when it’s Summoned and starts at 2300 ATK, so having even one Level 2 monster on the field, like Quillbolt Hedgehog, is often enough to pump it over 3000 ATK!
Drill Sergeant
Introduced midway through the series, Drill Synchron and Drill Warrior both allow you easier access to your opponent’s Life Points! Whenever Drill Synchron lets your Warrior-Type monsters inflict piercing battle damage, you get to draw an extra card each turn. Drill Warrior is more complicated. It can burrow its way straight to your opponent’s Life Points, hide underground to avoid attacks and retrieve monsters you’ve lost to the Graveyard. Best of all, it can do these things every turn!
Forget Me Not!
Junk Destroyer uses Junk Synchron as its Tuner, and for every non-Tuner used along with it, you get to destroy any card on the field. It’s perfect for Yusei’s strategy of making smaller, forgotten cards do amazing things! It’s also a prime candidate for Summoning with Quickdraw Synchron’s ability. Quickdraw replaces any other “Synchron” Tuner for the Synchro Summon of a monster that needs one, which makes it much easier to get the 8 Levels’ worth of required Synchro Material. Popular strategies use lots of Token-making cards to make Junk Destroyer easier to Summon. After all, Quickdraw Synchron and three Level 1 Tokens makes a Junk Destroyer that destroys up to three cards!
There are even more Synchrons and Synchro Monsters where these came from in Legendary Collection 5D’s, available now!
