Use the power of Ra to help you win!
Few monsters are as iconic to Yu-Gi-Oh! as the Egyptian God Cards. They were the focal point of Battle City as Yugi, Kaiba, and Marik struggled for their control. The Egyptian Gods have unforetold power that can only be harnessed by a Duelist with a strong heart, and the most powerful God Card of all is The Winged Dragon of Ra. Both Marik and Yami Yugi recited the ancient chant to release The Winged Dragon of Ra from its Sphere Mode, but in the actual Trading Card Game, The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode is plenty powerful on its own! Thanks to the Circuit Break Special Edition you can unlock the power of The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode!
If you’re facing an opponent who has a lot of monsters that are hard to deal with, The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode is a great way to solve that problem. The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode cannot be Special Summoned and requires three Tributes to Normal Summon. However, you can Tribute Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode by Tributing monsters from either side of the field! If you Tribute three of your opponent’s monsters, The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode will be Summoned to their side of the field but will shift control back to you during the End Phase of the next turn.
Tributing your opponent’s monsters is a powerful way to get around many pesky defensive effects. The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode doesn’t activate an effect to Summon itself, so Tributing your opponent’s monsters can’t be stopped. If your opponent tries to negate the Summon, all they’ll do is leave themselves wide open to attack because monsters are Tributed before cards that can negate Summons can be activated. The monsters aren’t being targeted, destroyed, or affected by The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode either, so even highly resilient monsters don’t stand a chance.
Once The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode is on the table, it cannot attack and can’t be targeted for attacks or by card effects. Most Duelists primarily use The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode just to remove their opponent’s monsters, but you can take things to the next level once it shifts back to your control. You can Tribute The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode to Special Summon The Winged Dragon of Ra from your hand or Deck ignoring its Summoning conditions! When Summoned this way, The Winged Dragon of Ra will have an ATK and DEF of 4000, matching the mighty Obelisk the Tormentor, and you won’t have to pay all but 100 of your LP! That leaves you with plenty left to pay to destroy your opponent’s monsters.
You can find The Winged Dragon of Ra – Sphere Mode in the Circuit Break Special Edition on December 8, 2017!
