Resurrect your Exodia Deck and rule the Dueling universe with these cards!
Legendary Decks II marks the first new Exodia cards in more than eight years! The Yugi + Exodia Deck in this box set has cards from the entirety of Yugi’s Dueling career, from his first Duel against Kaiba to the last Duel against the Pharaoh, but it focuses on the question “What might Yugi’s Deck look like if Weevil never threw the Exodia cards overboard?”
After realizing the purposes of the arms and legs of the Forbidden One in his first Duel and assembling Exodia the Forbidden One to defeat Kaiba, Weevil got wind of it and made sure Yugi couldn’t use the same strategy during Duelist Kingdom. If he still had the Exodia cards, however, it’s almost assured that Yugi would have made some modifications to his grandfather’s Deck to turn it into a true dual threat. The Legendary Exodia Incarnate gives you a way to use the various arms and legs while you’re still assembling Exodia, a method of retrieving them from the Graveyard, and a way to draw a big pile of extra cards all at once!
To Summon The Legendary Exodia Incarnate you need to Tribute one “Forbidden One” monster. Its ATK is 1000 times the number of “Forbidden One” monsters in your Graveyard, for a maximum of 5000 if all five pieces of Exodia are in the Graveyard. At the end of each of your turns, however, you get to add a “Forbidden One” monster from your Graveyard back to your hand. So right away you can retrieve whichever piece of Exodia you Tributed, and you now have a way to get back any pieces that are discarded from your hand or otherwise sent to the Graveyard. Obviously a monster like this immediately draws a huge target on itself, but if your opponent tries to take advantage of The Legendary Exodia Incarnate’s usually low ATK by destroying it in battle, you’ll get to reveal all the “Forbidden One” monsters in your hand and draw one card for each!
In order to last long enough to assemble Exodia the Forbidden One, you’ll need ways to survive your opponent’s Battle Phase and ways to move the pieces of Exodia to places you can access them easily. The Graveyard is the easiest place to get them back from, especially with The Legendary Exodia Incarnate, so Obliterate!!! fills both functions extremely well! It’s a Continuous Trap that lets you send a “Forbidden One” monster or “Exodia” card from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard each turn to return a monster on the field to the hand. You can use it to send away your opponent’s most annoying monster every turn, or even use it to return a stranded piece of Exodia from your field to your hand. If Obliterate!!! is sent to the Graveyard, you can retrieve a “Forbidden One” monster or “Exodia” card from your Graveyard, so destroying Obliterate!!! is extremely risky. Be careful though—you can only use one of those two abilities each turn, so an exceptionally clever opponent may find a way to eliminate Obliterate!!! in a way that deprives you of both abilities.
You can get these two new cards for Exodia Decks along with three brand new cards for Dark Magician Decks and over 100 other cards in Legendary Decks II , available October 7, 2016!
