Yuto, the Xyz-Monster-wielding doppelganger of Yuya, has made his debut in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime! His ace monster, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, can make short work of enemy monsters by absorbing half of their Attack Points, but when Invasion: Vengeance hits this weekend, you’ll be able to upgrade it to a brand new form that makes short work of opponents!

Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon is a Rank 5, 3000 ATK monster, but in order to use its abilities you’ll need to upgrade Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon using The Phantom Knights’ Rank-Up-Magic Launch. Launch targets a DARK Xyz Monster with no Xyz Materials, uses that monster to Xyz Summon a DARK Xyz Monster that’s one Rank higher and finally attaches itself to the new monster as a second Xyz Material.

It may sound a little complicated, but Summoning Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon is just a natural extension of how you’d normally play with Yuto’s Phantom Knights. After destroying your own The Phantom Knights of Break Sword and an opponent’s card, you get to Summon two Phantom Knights from your Graveyard and increase their Level by 1. You almost always use those monsters to Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and then immediately detach them for its effect anyways. So when you go to use their search effects, you can grab The Phantom Knights’ Rank-Up-Magic Launch from your Deck. It’s a “The Phantom Knights” cards, so both The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots and The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak can add it to your hand!

If you Summon Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon as an Xyz Material, it gets two effects. First, it can steal ALL the ATK from an opposing monster, reducing that monster’s ATK to 0. Attacking through a 0 ATK monster with the combined ATK of two huge monsters is often enough to end a Duel in one swing, but just in case it isn’t, Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon can also negate the activation of an opponent’s monster effect, destroy that monster and then Summon an Xyz Monster from your Graveyard so you can rack up even more damage!

It may not have appeared in the anime yet, but Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon can start appearing in your Duels this weekend! Invasion: Vengeance launches on November 4th.
