Rainy day and Monday survivor Urian Brown takes a look at this week's issue.
Cover
art by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
Man, Toriko is buff! And Neo is gross! This is our grossest, buffest cover ever! Look at those bulging biceps! Look at those rock hard abs! Toriko has muscles on top of muscles on top of muscles. And Acacia has three tongues! Which he feels the need to stick out for evil reasons only he can understand. What a cover, though. We don't make 'em like this very often!
Toriko
by Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro
Acacia's got the whole world in his hands! And he's crushing it! But all is not over yet! Toriko and his allies are still putting up a brave fight despite the incredible odds. And Komatsu has an emotional realization that might come in handy during the big fight. But will it be enough to put off the ultimate culinary catastrophe?
One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
The sad story of Sanji's tortured childhood continues! One of the fun things about long series is finding out the backstory of characters you've known for years. And I say "known" because when I read a manga that lasts many years, I feel like I actually know the characters in it. And although I've been curious about Sanji's backstory, I never thought it would be this horrible! It makes me see him in a whole new light. I have even more respect for him now. Well played, Oda Sensei!
Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma
story by Yuto Tsukuda, art by Shun Saeki, contributor Yuki Morisaki
The Shokugeki to decide Soma's fate is underway! The judges have arrived, the scene is set and the ingredients unveiled. Soma is in for the food fight of his life as he faces off against the hot-blooded master of spice, Hayama. But how will they cook the bear? What will they do to disguise the powerful smell? All will be revealed!
My Hero Academia
by Kohei Horikoshi
The next stage of the Provisional Hero Licensing Exam begins! Instead of a giant free-for-all, the students must embark on a rescue mission in a very convincing mock disaster! They're not just being judged on how many civilians they can rescue, but also on how they respond in general. The kids at U.A. know how to fight, but how are their people skills?
RED SPRITE
by Tomohiro Yagi
Awesome airship battle! Awesome airship battle! That's really all you need to know about this week's chapter of RED SPRITE. Oh, except that there are two chapters this week so we can catch up with Japan and be simultaneous. Tatsu's rebellion against the evil government continues!
Black Clover
by Yûki Tabata
One thing about Black Clover is that it's relentlessly positive. No matter the stakes, there always seems to be a sense of optimism due to Asta's happy-go-lucky-never-give-up attitude. But all that changes in this chapter when one of the characters gets some really bad news. This changes everything!
Love Rush!
by Ryohei Yamamoto
Reiji's insane love life continues to cause chaos all around him. But there's a new wrinkle confounding things ever further--the one girl immune to his Ubermale gene, which makes all women love him, may have feelings for him. But she may not. But she might. But...it's all so confusing! Find out if she's finally warming up to him!
The Promised Neverland
story by Kaiu Shirai, art by Posuka Demizu
I feel like every week I go on about how great this manga is. Well, guess what? I'm going to do it again! Because this manga really is great. Each new chapter continues to impress and this week is no exception. Prepare to read the most gripping game of tag in a manga ever!
