Mystery SJ editor "Baby Cakes" takes a look at this week's issue.
Cover
by Mikio Ikemoto
Can you feel the emotion in this week's cover?! It's hard to envision what it must feel like to have a mysterious power overtake your body and leave markings on your skin, but that's Boruto's reality now! It's as if he's internalizing all the bad things going on in the world and releasing it with one big jutsu. Bascially, ipecac for shinobi. What am I trying to say here? The cover is pretty cool.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations creator/supervisor Masashi Kishimoto, art by Mikio Ikemoto, script by Ukyo Kodachi
Have you ever gone to the dog pound and adopted a rescue dog? That's kinda what's going on here with Naruto and Kawaki, except we're dealing with dangerous-jutsu-wielding shinobi here as opposed to bark-happy Fido. And Boruto might not take too kindly to the family's newest addition, especially if he's gotta share his room.
Dr. Stone
story by Riichiro Inagaki, art by Boichi
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but it doesn't matter because I have the power of...paper?! That's what Senku plans to use to reinforce his primordial tank, but is it strong enough to withstand tough-guy Tsukasa?
One Piece
by Eiichiro Oda
This one is excited about the Wano story arc! And what a way to start off the adventures on a samurai island than with a strange dog-dragon pet straight out of a scroll painting and a giant female samurai.
My Hero Academia
by Kohei Horikoshi
Midoriya's One for All Quirk is quite the...quirky Quirk! This mysterious Quirk allows Midoriya to somehow witness past events and also interact with previous users. However, what he learns and sees confuses him even more with regards to the Quirk's past and cryptic powers...
Black Clover
by Yuki Tabata
Captain Yami of the Black Bulls is my favorite character in Black Clover, and this chapter pretty much sums up why. He's strong. He's rude, but funny. He always has a five o'clock shadow and a cig hanging off his lip. And he cares! Plus, he's one of the few Magic Knights around that can go toe-to-toe with the elves. Soon he might even have them going snap, crackle and pop!
The Promised Neverland
story by Kaiu Shirai, art by Posuka Demizu
Now that contact, albeit brief and confusing, was made with the Supporter, it's time for the kids to start acting on their rescue/escape plan! Their first order of business, to search the Cuvitidala region for the Seven Walls!
We Never Learn
by Taishi Tsutsui
There's a board game event at the Maid Cafe and they need volunteers to help! There's no way Yuiga's gonna keep Rizu away, but what can they do about her insanely unbelievable bad luck when it comes to games?
Food Wars!
story by Yuto Tsukuda, art by Shun Saeki, contributor Yuki Morisaki
Oftentimes, teachers are there to help students learn. They guide them with their studies and provide direction whenever needed. But in Soma's case, he's up against a teacher eager to challenge and beat him! And not only beat him, but take his treasured knife as a trophy as well. Yoinks!
One-Punch Man
story by ONE, art by Yusuke Murata
Tensions between the Hero Association and the newly formed Monster Association are at an all-time high! The heroes are ramping up for an all-out rescue mission that involves some heavy-hitters in terms of hero power, but the monsters have some pretty sadistic baddies on their side. Not to mention two hostages and possibly...Garo! But honestly, is that truly enough when staring down the terror known as Normal Consecutive Punches?!
