From the Flames of Destruction emerges a new Monster Reborn! Monster Reborn Reborn is a Normal Spell Card in the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG booster set that has the power to resurrect monsters from your Graveyard…at a price.

When you activate Monster Reborn Reborn, you target three monsters in your Graveyard. Your opponent chooses one of those monsters for you to Special Summon. The other two monsters are banished. You can only activate one copy of Monster Reborn Reborn per turn.

Monster Reborn Reborn has a sweet and simple effect. It taps into the strength of two monsters from your Graveyard to banish them from the Duel and resurrect a third monster. Special Summoning a monster from the Graveyard with the single activation of a Normal Spell Card has always been powerful. The original Monster Reborn was used by Duelists over the course of many years. It helped to end Duels by swarming the field with powerful monsters. Monster Reborn Reborn has a similarly powerful Special Summoning capability but is a bit tougher to use.

Since your opponent gets to pick which monster gets reborn and which two monsters get banished when you activate it, you’ll have to strategically decide which three monsters in your Graveyard to target with Monster Reborn Reborn. Usually, it’s best to target three equally strong monsters. That way, your opponent will have no choice but to Special Summon one of those monsters to your field, and face defeat at the hands of the monster he or she selected.

Monster Reborn Reborn will work even better with monsters whose effects activate when they’re banished from the Duel. Most of the Metaphys monsters and the Shiranui monsters, for example, have beneficial effects that will activate when they’re banished. Similarly, Giant Rex (available in Battles of Legend -Light’s Revenge-) Special Summons itself to the field and increases its own Attack Points if it’s banished. You can use Monster Reborn Reborn to target three monsters with effects that activate if they’re banished. That’ll force your opponent to Special Summon one of them to your field, while allowing you to activate the effects of the other two banished monsters.
