Craving action? This is your manga...
...and especially volume 4 of the series, as the whole thing is one big fight. One big amazingly drawn fight, that is! But what are they fighting about? Some very dramatic stuff that's been building up in the previous three volumes including a massacre, a betrayal and a whole lot of lies. And from a family member! If you thought your brother was a jerk...
Young exorcist Benio's brother is on a whole different level. He is about as demented as they come and has caused her an incredible amount of pain. But now she's ready to get revenge. Together with her betrothed, Rukuo. Who she's supposed to marry and eventually create the Prophesized Child with. They've got a lot of training to do to get ready for the fight, but not a lot of time to do it, in fact, only one night! Making matters worse, he's a little underpowered in some very key areas putting them at a severe disadvantage. Oh, and Benio's brother Yuto is insanely powerful. Naturally!
It's interesting to see how the relationship of the two main characters has changed since the manga began. At first, they were practically at each other's throats on every page. But as details about their past have been revealed, they've come to respect each other and even started to have feelings. Of course, they still bicker and have communication problems, but when it comes time for battle, they've definitely got each other's backs.
Which considering the power and cruelty of their enemy, is a good thing. The battle between Benio, Rokuro and Yuto is a big one coming in at over three-quarters of the book. And it's one heck of a fight! Yoshiaki Sukeno's art is outstanding. The characters have a fantastic sense of speed, the punches have tremendous impact and the exorcism-based powers look impressive. The mangaka even says in the back of the book that they really wanted to draw a big fight and were happy they got the chance.
Can't really get into the details of the battle without spoiling some major reveals, but it's a doozy. Full of shockers and gotcha moments that'll keep the pages turning.
Twin Star Exorcists does a great job of fusing together many things. It's dark and scary at times, light-hearted and romantic at others. There's plenty of intrigue and great character development. There's also tragedy and humor. In other words, it's got all the right ingredients for an entertaining read. All that and beautiful art, too!
If you want to read an amazing battle, this volume is available on April 5, right here!
