The Gimmick Puppets are Quattro’s ace monsters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime. While they don’t have a lot of power alone, Quattro uses their easy Summoning techniques to Xyz Summon Rank 8 Xyz Monsters! With the all-new Gimmick Puppets from Premium Gold now arriving, here’s a refresher on how Gimmick Puppet Decks work!

Gimmick Puppets focus on easy Summons that can be used in Rank 8 Xyz Summons! It seems difficult, but it’s actually really easy. Gimmick Puppet Gear Changer and Gimmick Puppet Egg Head are low-Level monsters that can become Level 8 monsters, and Gimmick Puppet Twilight Joker can be Special Summoned from your hand when your Gimmick Puppet is destroyed by battle. You can also use Puppet Ritual if your opponent has 2000 or more Life Points than you to Special Summon two Level 8 Gimmick Puppets from your Graveyard! Premium Gold also introduces Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll, a Level 8 monster you can Summon from the Graveyard by banishing a Gimmick Puppet! Plus there's Junk Puppet, which Special Summons any Gimmick Puppet from your Graveyard.

The Gimmick Puppet Xyz Monsters are all Rank 8 and have very powerful effects. If you didn't get a chance to nab Number 40 and Number 88 when they came out as Weekly Shonen Jump promotional cards, then you're in luck! Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings is Xyz Summoned using two Level 8 monsters as well and can detach an Xyz Material to place a String Counter on every other monster on the field. At the end of your opponent’s next turn, those Strings will snap, destroying all of the monsters with String Counters and inflicting damage to your opponent for each one! Number 88: Gimmick Puppet of Leo is different altogether. It requires three Level 8 monsters to be Xyz Summoned, and it can detach an Xyz Material to place a Destiny Counter on itself. If it has three Destiny Counters, you win the Duel! If you can protect Gimmick Puppet of Leo for three turns, then you can win the Duel without even attacking your opponent! Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder requires two Level 8 monsters and can use its Xyz Materials to destroy Special Summoned monsters your opponent controls! It will even deal damage to your opponent if it was an Xyz Monster! These three Xyz Monsters all have brand new CXyz forms in Premium Gold, too, so you can power them up even further with Rank-Up Magic – Barian’s Force!
