0125 Ygo 0The Counter Trap Fairy combines powerful Counter Traps with Fairy Monsters like Bountiful Artemis that have effects that work when you play Counter Traps. It prevents the opponent from playing their best cards, but if the opponent manages to land a powerful monster, it can be hard to overcome. Thanks to the release of Structure Deck: Wave of Light, the Counter Trap Fairy strategy gets some new blood, including the massive, easy-to-play boss monster—Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath!

Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath is a Level 9 LIGHT Fairy with 2800 ATK and 2300 DEF. If you activate a Counter Trap Card or negate the activation of a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect, you can banish two other Fairy Monsters from your hand, field or Graveyard, and Special Summon Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath from your hand or Graveyard! Much like Van’Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord, Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath will descend from the sky as soon as you begin countering your opponent’s actions. The major upside here is that Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath can also Special Summon itself back from the Graveyard! As long as you have two other Fairy Monsters to fuel its effect, you can just keep Summoning Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath.

If that wasn’t enough, Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath has an additional effect in tune with the classic Airknight Parshath! Not only will it inflict piercing damage on Defense Position Monsters, but when it does inflict damage to your opponent, you can add a “Parshath” card or any Counter Trap from your Deck to your hand! Once Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath starts dealing damage, you can keep grabbing more cards to make sure you stay ahead.

But what happens if you don’t draw Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath? That’s where the Counter Trap Rebirth of Parshath comes in. When a Spell/Trap Card or monster effect is activated, you can reveal a Counter Trap in your hand, discard any card, and pay 1000 Life Points to negate the activation of that card and shuffle it back into the Deck! With that alone, Rebirth of Parshath is a very strong card, but what puts it over the top is after that effect, you can Special Summon a “Parshath” monster from your Deck or Extra Deck!

Both Sacred Arch-Airknight Parshath and Rebirth of Parshath are available now in Structure Deck: Wave of Light , a Counter Trap Fairy Deck that’s ready to play out of the box!
