The holidays are a perfect time for a little bit of friendly competition! Tournaments are winding down for the year, so now is a great opportunity to challenge your friends and try out the cards and strategies that you’ve always wanted to play with but haven’t had a chance. Here are a few Decks we’re looking forward to giving a spin in the coming weeks!

40-Trap Paleozoic

Paleozoic Frog Decks often play around thirty Traps, a few Spells and a few Frog monsters…but what if you just went all the way and played forty Traps? You can Summon a Paleozoic Trap Card from your Graveyard as a monster each time you activate a Normal Trap, so this Deck would use even more Normal Traps to help draw cards and eliminate enemy monsters until you convert enough Paleozoic Traps into monsters to Xyz Summon Paleozoic Opabinia and Paleozoic Anomalocaris. Of course, Toadally Awesome is still great here too! No need to cut it just because the Frogs have gone into hibernation for the winter. All of the Paleozoic cards are from The Dark Illlusion or Invasion: Vengeance.

Gemini Fusion Red-Eyes

The last few months have been great for fans of Red-Eyes Black Dragon! Legendary Decks II made it a lot easier to get The Black Stone of Legend and Invasion: Vengeance had new cards for both Red-Eyes specifically and that generally helps Gemini monsters like Red-Eyes Black Flare Dragon. Dragons of Legend -Unleashed- even brought back The Claw of Hermos and Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword, so everything needed for a top notch Red-Eyes Deck is readily available. Don’t forget to add a Time Wizard in for good luck!

Phantom Knights’ Extra Deck All-Stars

Phantom Knights may have fallen out of favor recently, but the number of cool things you can do with them is higher than ever! The Phantom Knights’ Rank-Up-Magic Launch from Invasion: Vengeance gives Phantom Knights a whole new range of Xyz Summoning options, including not just the devastating new Dark Requiem Xyz Dragon, but the classic Evilswarm Ophion as well!

You can even shock your friends by adding Fusion and Synchro Monsters to the mix as well. Blackwing - Gofu the Vague Shadow from The Dark Illusion can combine with any of the basic Phantom Knights for a big Synchro Summon, and they’re all low Level DARK monsters, so Mask Change II can turn them into the formidable Masked HERO Dark Law!

Those are just a few ideas of what you can do over the holidays. This is the time of year when anything goes, so if you have an idea that you think is cool, try it!
