Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning is one of the strongest legal monsters in the game! Since it can banish any monster or attack your opponent twice, it can easily turn the tide of any Duel by itself. Every Tidal, Dragon Ruler of Waterfalls Collectible Tin comes with a Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, so here are some tips on how you can use yours!

Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning is Summoned from your hand by banishing any LIGHT and any DARK monster from your Graveyard. It has two special abilities: It can pass on attacking to instantly banish any monster OR it gets a second attack if its first attack defeats a monster! You can banish a hard-to-destroy monster like Wind-Up Zenmaines, attack two monsters, or even attack a monster and follow it up with a 3000-damage direct attack!

You need LIGHT and DARK monsters to Summon Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, which is great because a lot of awesome monsters are LIGHT and DARK and many strategies use them. Agent Decks are based around LIGHT Fairy monsters like The Agent of Creation – Venus and The Agent of Mystery – Earth, but they also play DARK monsters like T.G. Warwolf, Genex Ally Birdman, and Tour Guide from the Underworld. If you’re more into DARK monsters, then Blackwings are another great choice. Nearly every Blackwing monster is DARK. The lone exception is LIGHT! And you can play great LIGHT monsters in your Extra Deck, like Armades, Keeper of Boundaries, that are easy to Summon with Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North.

Even if you don’t want to play a particular strategy, there are plenty of great LIGHT and DARK monsters that can help out your Deck and let you Summon the Envoy. LIGHT monsters like Effect Veiler and DARK monsters like Tour Guide from the Underworld are easy fits. In addition, you also have the option of using specific Extra Deck monsters to help Summon your Black Luster Soldier. Armades, Keeper of Boundaries is an easy monster to Summon in a lot of Decks, since you can use Effect Veiler and any Level 4 monster. The same goes for Ally of Justice Catastor, so by including both in your Deck you can easily get either Attribute ready when you need them! There are heaps of LIGHT and DARK Extra Deck monsters you can use in almost any Deck (for example, Synchro Monsters like Colossal Fighter, Star Eater, and Thought Ruler Archfiend, and Xyz Monsters like Mechquipped Angineer, Number 11: Big Eye, and Number 39: Utopia).

Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning is a powerful monster that can be Summoned in a lot of different LIGHT and DARK strategies. It may not be for every Deck, but if your Deck has a bunch of LIGHT and DARK monsters in it, consider including the mighty monster from the dawn of Dueling!
