The Barian invasion is about to begin! Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy introduces the Rank-Up-Magic Barian’s Force Spell Card, a catalyst that transforms ordinary Xyz Monsters into extraordinary “Number C” and “CXyz” monsters of the same Type...but 1 Rank higher! The resulting monster gets a massive power boost, and, depending on the monster you ranked up, you can even unlock a hidden special ability!

Battlin’ Beatdown

Check out Number C105: Battlin’ Boxer Star Cestus. It’s beefy, and it can’t be beaten in battle. Even better, Star Cestus disables the special abilities of monsters it battles and sends any damage you would take right back at your opponent. But with Rank-Up-Magic…

…it becomes Number C105: Battlin’ Boxer Comet Cestus! Every time Comet Cestus crushes a monster, it burns away your opponent's Life Points. And if you rank up Star Cestus instead of any old Warrior-Type Xyz Monster, this Battlin’ Boxer doesn’t even have to battle: It can just destroy any enemy monster for double the damage it would do by actually fighting. But that doesn’t stop it from fighting as well. Destroy your opponent’s monster, burn them for its ATK, then attack directly for a cool 2800 blow. There’s nowhere to hide.

No Hope

The very first “Number C” monster was Number C39: Utopia Ray. You can also Summon it by ranking up a Rank 3 Warrior. Here’s one way to do it.  Summon Tour Guide from the Underworld and get a second Level 3 Fiend. Now, Xyz Summon Lavalval Ignis (from Hidden Arsenal 6: Omega Xyz). Ignis is a Rank 3 Warrior, so you can use Rank-Up-Magic Barian’s Force to change it into the Rank 4 Warrior Number C39: Utopia Ray!

Rank-Up-Magic Barian’s Force also lets you steal an Xyz Material from an enemy monster when you play it, which makes your new monster more deadly than theoretically possible. Under normal circumstances, Number C39: Utopia Ray can have a maximum of three Xyz Materials (Utopia, and Utopia’s 2 Materials). Rank-Up-Magic gives you a fourth, and with Utopia Ray’s effect, that translates into 500 more ATK for you, and 1000 less for your opponent’s monster—a 1500 point swing!
