A team-based fighting game hardcore fans will love!
Black Clover has a video game out now!
Based on the hit Shonen Jump manga, Black Clover: Quartet Knights follows Asta as he and his friends band together to fight enemies that threaten the Clover Kingdom. Black Clover: Quartet Knights features an original story made for the game with a new antagonist for Asta and the Black Bulls to fight. We also see the Black Bulls commander Yami in his salad days!
Black Clover: Quartet Knights is a third-person team arena fighting game with shooter elements. Players form teams of four using characters such as melee fighters, long-range fighters, healers and support. Smart players will select characters that can make a well-rounded team. It's not all just firing magic missiles and deflecting them: there are other modes too like capturing crystals (think “capture the flag”), treasure battles, and zone control. And if you want to work on your magic skills, you can practice with mock battles. Your team can also equip a deck that contains status-augmentation abilities that can make your team stronger.
There are some hiccups in this game, though. The game skips every now and then, especially when there's a lot of action on screen. The animated cutscenes, while fun to look at, can also stutter and it hinders the enjoyment of the storyline. Computer-controlled characters seem to act at random sometimes, which can be bothersome, but it can also be easy since human players will be a lot more ruthless when it comes to online play. Finally, the story mode is pretty short, but making through the end gets you some bonus characters.
Fans of the anime and manga will enjoy Black Clover: Quarter Knights. And if you can't get enough of Black Clover, you can purchase the manga here!
